Current Interests

The MeNcuSoft investigates fuzzy theory initiated by the pioneer Prof. L.A. Zadeh of Berkeley since 70s. Armed with linear theory, robust control and optimization schemes,  fuzzy control theory is established bits by bits, and a long term goal of this group is to eventually bridge the gaps between fuzzy control and nonlinear control. 

After years of hard works, a PhD candidate Mr. M. L. Lin attended the English contest for the best paper award of 2002 annual meeting for fuzzy theory and its applications, won the 3rd award, and honored by Prof. L. A. Zadeh. A warm handshake from Prof L.A. Zadeh and Prof N.R. Pal, world renowned scholars,  is a honorary recognition that cheers everyone in this group.

Phase 1 provides some basic training for both PhD and master students; Phase 2 focuses on in-depth reading, analyzing/comparing extensively with existing literature and innovation training; Phase 3 emphasizes on creativity and writing skills improvement. The expected length for the PhD program depends, mainly, on personality and other factors such as iterations of a review process.  The word "research" is a collective term for self-taught reading, math verifications and weekly discussion.
